Laphroaig 10 Year Old Original Cask Strength Batch 16 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

Laphroaig 10 Year Old is perhaps one of, if not the quintessential Islay malts. And as with any bottling, this is only amplified at cask strength. Matured fully in ex-Bourbon, what you get is a crystallization of the distillery character, amped up to an incredible clarity over the standard 10YO.  This bottling is the latest release, Batch 16, bottled in December 2022. Bottled at 58.5%.

Official Tasting Notes:

Nose: The nuanced aroma reveals whiffs of sweet cereals, fresh oak and pipe tobacco with touches of leather, nutmeg and vanilla. ​

Palate: Sweet and spicy with notes of vanilla, toffee and sea salt along with hints of cinnamon and pepper. 

Finish: Long finish with lingering spice, oak tannins, iodine and sea salt. ​

Laphroaig is a classic Islay distillery. Founded in 1815, it is renowned for its signature character. Phenolic, and medicinal at younger age statements, before turning to a more earth & sherried elegance over the age of 20 years. One of our favourites.
